    清城区凤城广场座落于美丽的北江河畔，区政府行政中心大楼正前方，于2006年9月28日正式启用，它构思新颖,别具特色，集休闲、娱乐、文化、体育、绿化于一体。从文化层面上展示了清城区的地缘优势,彰显了悠悠历史,人文邅递；在规划层次上,它聚亭台、雕塑、花木于一隅,体现着时代精神与自然的融合,人与生态相统一的和谐。

　　广场气势恢宏,北端近万平方米的中心场地,万人集会,其空间也绰绰有余。广场东西两侧各矗立着一个巨大的电子屏,播放着当天国内外时事和文娱体育新闻,吸引着人,引颈眺望。北端设有国旗坛,庄严神圣的国旗迎风招展,令人由衷地生出深深的敬意。登坛远望,整个广场尽收眼底。景色蔚为壮观,令人心旷神怡。旗坛后面是两个大型喷泉池,喷泉喷出的水柱,风一吹,如尘、如雾、如烟,在阳光的照耀下,显出五光十色,美丽极了。白天,这里游人络绎不绝。夜晚,这里灯火辉煌,宛若天上人间。广场东侧有一小型露天舞台,这里是粤曲私伙局的“戏棚”,广大的粤曲发烧友们,经常在此设局高歌,引来无数粤曲知音如痴如醉, 共度良宵。

　　广场东西两侧的绿化区内,各建有若干个外观各异的凉亭,凉亭内除安放椅子供休闲外,还有画有棋盘的桌子,游客可在此横车跃马,专心对弈,暂时忘却闹市之繁嚣。

　　广场四周除安装有高杆照明灯外,还安装有草坪灯。入夜,这些柔和迷离的灯光,给美丽的广场平添了几分神韵。

　　从广场中央往南,有三座天桥与临江的一个浮雕广场相连。别看这个浮雕广场虽然比中央广场面积要小,但其文化内涵却十分丰富。浮雕广场的东西边有十二生肖的立体石雕顺序排列,中间是个大型基座,基座上边屹立着一个红色的宛若展翅飞翔的凤凰大型雕塑,名曰丹凤朝阳。她象征着古老而又年轻的清城区,正展翅高飞。基座北面,刻有本地诗人撰写的《凤城赋》,其内容不仅浓缩了清城区的人文历史,还赞颂了清城区人民群众推动两个文明建设前进的伟大成就。基座其余三面,均为义凤救民传说的浮雕,把凤城之由来作出了详细的诠释。夹峙浮雕基座,东西矗立着六根圆柱型的凸雕六福柱,依次为和合福、慈孝福、好德福、康宁福、富贵福、长寿福。这六福柱浮雕,浓缩着清城区六十多万儿女的传统美德和聪明才智,这些浮雕,呈现在人们面前的不仅仅是一种景观,更多是留给人们对艰辛历史的思忆与对光明未来的展望。

　　从浮雕广场再往南走是一处亲水平台,我们沿着一层层台阶走到平台边,可以远望北江对岸新市区错落有致的高楼巨厦,可以纵览北江江面上的许多渔船和货船。

　　浮雕广场东南面有6个标准篮球场,西南面有6个标准网球场,运动健儿可在此大显身手,比试球艺,强身健体。

Fengcheng Square

    Fengcheng square located at the side of beautiful Beijiang River, in front of the Administrative Center of Qingcheng district government. Fengcheng square was officially opened on September 28, 2006, it was built with the idea of novel, distinctive,leisure, entertainment, culture, sports and green. From the cultural aspect shows the geographical advantages of Qingcheng District, highlighting the long history and sense of humanities delivery; In the planning aspect, it gathered pavilions, sculptures, flowers and trees in the corner that embodying the time spirit and the fusion of nature, as well as the harmony of human and ecology.

    With an area of nearly ten thousand square meters, the magnificent square is large enough to accommodate more than thousands of people to gather here. There is a huge electronic screen on the east and west side of the square, which is playing the domestic and international events and entertainment sports news,attracting people to look over it. The northern end stands a flag tower, the sacred flags are fluttering in the breeze which make people sincerely respect it. You’ll be rewarded by the spectacular panoramic view of the entire square when you stand on the tower. Behind the flag tower there are two large-scale fountains, the fountains even more beautiful and glowed in the sunshine. During the day, lines of visitors flocked here. The square is even more romantic and fascinating in the late evenings under the neon lights alongside the river. On the eastern side of the square is a small open-air stage, it is the drama studio of Cantonese Opera private partnerships. The remaining three sides are engraved with the sculpture that interpret the legend of a phoenix rescued people, which greatly show the origin of Fengcheng.     Further south from sculpture square is a water platform. Walking along the platform, youcan overlook the tall buildings and a number of fishing boats and cargo ships alongside the Beijiang River.

    Six standard basketball courts are built in the southeast side of the sculpture square while on its southwest there’re six standard tennis courts. Both of them provide a good place for the athletes to have physical fitness.
